If boating is your thing, then you must visit Marina del Este. The Marina is nestled in a protected cove, between Almuñécar and La Herradura, with a perfectly protected situation protected by natural rock and a manmade wall. La Herradura is the closest pueblo to the Marina, just over the natural headland called Punta de la Mona. This area is full of summer fun with many activities year-round as well, including many beaches, coves, hiking trails and more, it is the perfect getaway for everyone.
The marina is full of beautiful yachts and boats and of course you may also hire out rentals. The marina has 227 berths with a maximum length of 35 meters. It also manages a boatyard dedicated to repair vessels and provides services to all the boats in the area.
This provides you with the perfect backdrop to enjoy lunch, dinner or drinks at their restaurants. There are also marine shops, waste disposal for those mooring boats, refuelling facilities, showers and toilets, laundry facilities, electricity and water hook-up. If you just want to stop off to get cash, grab some groceries or use the internet, then you will also find what you need here. There is a small supermarket, wifi and ATMs.
The few small beaches nearby offer great areas for beach lovers to relax. Although some are quite popular in the summer months, usually there are plenty of sand castles to go around. There are a couple of naturist beaches available near Cerro Gordo Park as well as over the hill to the east of the Marina. There is a small walking path near the Best Alcazar hotel leading down to the beach.

Being a little hidden and out of sight is a ‘feature’ that adds much character to the Marina and maybe that is why it has much appealing allure. If you can locate signs to the Best Alcazar hotel, you are in the right direction. Then you will need to drive eastwards all the way down to the ‘secretive’ port and to the assigned parking area.
