Who loves ice cream? How would you like to make ice cream with a local from Almuñécar? If making ice cream sounds like loads of fun, keep on reading.
Master the art of making ice cream in Spain, with local Manolo as your guide. Manolo’s family owns La Italiana Cafe and regularly make their own ice cream. His family has lived in Almuñécar for many generations and he would like to share some of his passions and secrets with you. When you step into the cafe, you will think you are in Italy rather than Spain. The eclectic and artistic decor is something to be experienced.
Time To Make Ice Cream!
You will first sit through a 30 minute instructor led health and safety course. This will allow you to legally be in the kitchen, where all of the magic happens. You will obtain an official Spanish food handlers health and safety card, to keep as a souvenir. This is to ensure all Spanish standards are followed.
You will then spend the next 90 minutes with Manolo. He will start off this session with an instructional video and then you will begin learning about some of the local fruits used in the ice cream. You may even have time for a little sample of the fruits. Manolo will be sure to include some information and history about Almuñécar, so be prepared to be fascinated.
Next you will be hands-on and step into the kitchen. You will be taking part in preparation of the fruit and other ingredients to make the soft delicious ice cream. Of course the next part is the best! Time to taste a bit of the magic and enjoy a bit of ice cream.
At the end of your course, you will receive a certificate of completion in addition to your health and safety card. This is a fun activity for all ages. If you are interested in booking this, please see contact information below.
This would be a great activity combined with a morning at the Friday Market.
