What better way to experience a bit of local culture than to visit a historic Roman Aqueduct and also enjoy a wine tasting.
See one of the best preserved and largest Roman aqueducts around Almuñécar, just outside of town along the River Seco. This is located in El Torreon Restaurante near the Santa Cruz Resort and Spa. You will enjoy a guided walk from to Bodega Vinacoteca La Princesa in la Finca La Santa Cruz to the Aqueduct, with locals Ana or Carlos. They will share with you the history and discovery of the aqueducts.
You will then return to their bodega and enjoy a tasting of fine wines (1 glass of chardonnay, 1 glass of red Sucunza). The wine tasting will be paired with with samples of Spanish ham, cheese and extra virgin olive oil.
This guided tour and tasting is €5 per person, kids under 12 are free. Please contact them to schedule your wine tasting and tour today!
This is really a delightful experience and very easy to access via foot from the center of town. Please refer to the map below to reach the destination of your wine tasting and Roman Aqueduct experience.
