Antonia Andalusi

Almunecar Restaurant Antonia's Andalusi

This is one of the Almuñécar restaurants where you can not only enjoy a really nice meal, it is also a favorite spot for drinks and amazing tapas.  They have tables inside as well as out on the sidewalk.  The outdoor tables have fabric walls and a canopy to help keep you out of the hot sun.  It is perfect for a romantic meal for two with a nice bottle of wine.  What we love the most is that the staff is always friendly and attentive.  It is always full of people, so that should tell you how great it is.  They have typical Spanish cuisine, as well as delicious burgers and seafood dishes.  Andalusi is located at the west end of San Cristobal beach, so you get nice sea views as well.  Look at our directory info and click on the details tab for hours and contact info.

Gastrobar Restaurante De La Flor

Almunecar Gastrobar Restaurante De La Flor, Near the town center church

De la Fleur is a family-run restaurant with upscale dishes, beautifully presented.  It is great if you are looking for something other than your basic fried food.  You will find it located on Avenida Europa, across from Majuelo Park.  It’s white and blue on the outside, with open-air seating.  But inside it is cozy modern and even romantic.  This is a local favorite as there is always good service and they offer some wonderful salads.  Tapas can be a bit on the small side, but they’re usually something unique.  Look at our directory info and click on the details tab for hours and contact info.

Restaurante El Arbol Blanco (2 locations)

Restaurante El Arbol Blanco Meals and Starters

There are 2 locations for El Arbol Blanco and they couldn’t be more different.  First, you have the original location, at the top of Avenida Costa del Sol.  This is a cozy 2 level Spanish restaurant with a white tree center stage.  There is limited outdoor seating and they usually have a fantastic menu of the day.  The food has always been delicious and served with a smile.  Some favorite menu items are the chicken, beef, and fish dishes.  We offer a full review of the restaurant.

The playa location wins over the original location, because they have the best view in town, especially if you arrive early enough to be seated right at the railing on the water.  It is located alongside the Aquatropic waterpark and is one of the very few restaurants in town directly on the water.  Of course, the seafood is amazing at this location.  The only downside is the playa location closes for the winter, usually November – Easter.  Look at our directory info and click on the details tab for hours and contact info.

Restaurante Boto’s

Favorite Almuencar restaurants - Restaurante Boto's grilled squid

There are several restaurants located right on the beach and some of them don’t try so hard to please the customer, as they receive so much walk-by traffic.  That is not the case with Boto’s.  It has recently been remodeled and is a lovely family-run restaurant.  The seafood options are spectacular and it is the perfect location to view a wonderful sunset on San Cristobal beach.  You may sit inside, out on the covered terrace, or right out in the open air on the beach.

The wait staff is usually very busy, so not always very chatty, but the family members who own the place are wonderful.  If you order an entire fish, they will fillet it table-side and there will be plenty to share.  It is hands down the best option in Almuñécar for seafood.  With a bottle of wine, this can get expensive, but it really is good.  Look at our directory info and click on the details tab for hours and contact info.

Almunecar Meson Francisco II - great comfort food

If you want wonderful comfort food, this is the place to go.  A local favorite is the beef stroganoff!  You can also get a delicious t-bone when you’re craving a steak.  It is said to be the best available here in town.  The surrounding are very intimate and cozy, as it is tucked away in the pedestrian streets of the old town.  There are a few outdoor tables as well.  The service is always very classy and they offer gluten-free bread too.  Look at our directory info and click on the details tab for hours and contact info.

Restaurante Mar de Plata

Restaurante Mar de Plata Almunecar

Located just across from the San Cristobal Mercadona, you will find Restaurante Mar de Plata right in the middle of the block.  There are a few other restaurants around which are good, but choose this one if you want some really good food and amazing gambas pil pil (garlic shrimp).  Oh, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.  You can dine inside or in the covered area outside as well.  Their prices are very reasonable and it is a great place for a nice meal out.  Look at our directory info and click on the details tab for hours and contact info.
