City Line 2 – La Herradura Bus

The first and most frequent option is to take the city bus.  This is the blue bus you see around town and the cost is 1€ per ride.  Keep in mind the times listed are for the start/stop time at the Plaza de la Carrera, across from Carbonell in Almuñécar.  If you are picking up the bus along the way, it may be 5 – 15 minutes after that, depending on where you are in the route.  It is just safe to be at the bus stop at that time and wait the few extra minutes.  NEW!  There is even a bus locator, so you can see where the bus currently is!

La Herradura & Almuñécar are at the heart of the Costa Tropical.  This area is filled with amazing places to stay from the high-end hotels, to the more inexpensive hostels and campgrounds, to holiday rentals, rural villas, and estates.  We have them all here and you will be amazed at what you can get for your money.  This town itself has many hills, so more opportunity for those incredible sea views.  If you want to be right in the village of La Herradura, there are several options.

The La Herradura bus line will start in Almuñécar and go through La Herradura, with some of the routes including the Marina del Este.

ALSA – La Herradura / Almuñécar Bus

Your second option is to take the ALSA bus between the two towns.  It is a more frequent and direct route between the towns with a travel time if 15 minutes.  This is much faster and slightly more expensive, closer to 1.20€.  The stop for La Herradura is at the main roundabout on the N340, just next to the scooter shop.  The stop for Almuñécar is at the main bus station, located next to McDonald’s on Avenida Juan Carlos I.

You may purchase tickets on the bus, providing seats are available or they can be purchased online.
