History

Located in the foothills and just a short drive from the Costa Tropical cities of Motril or Almuñécar.  Though it is known the town dates back to the Phoenicians, there is only written documentation from the 12th century.  It has a small urban center of narrow streets with adorable whitewashed houses and flower-adorned balconies.

Guest Contributor:  We’d like to thank Rachel Adams for her part in this article.

Six years ago, Rachel came to work as an English Teacher in the Cordoba region of Spain.  Her long-term dream was to purchase a property in Costa Tropical and last year, she was proud to open the doors to her lovely guesthouse, CASA PICASSO.  This quirky townhouse is situated in Ítrabo, a typical Spanish village.  Guests enjoy glorious mountain views and endless Andalusian sunshine, and it’s just a short 15-minute drive to the sea.
