Schools in Almuñécar / La Herradura

There are several public and private schools in Almuñécar. Covering infant through high school (grade pre k to 12).
There is also one International school (British Curriculum), which serves for the entire coastal area.

The public schools usually run from the second week in September through the third week in June. They are typically closed for all of the national holidays and some of the local La Herradura and Almuñécar holidays. If one of those days happens to land on a Tuesday or Thursday, the schools may opt to have an additional day off (the Monday or Friday) to bridge the weekend.

Public primary is from 09:00 – 14:00 and public secondary and bachillerato are from 08:15 – 14:45.

They are typically closed for all of the national holidays and some of the local La Herradura and Almuñécar holidays. If one of those days happens to land on a Tuesday or Thursday, the schools may opt to have an additional day off (the Monday or Friday), known as a puente )to bridge the weekend).
