We all ask questions in groups and forums regarding residency in Spain, buying and selling a Spanish property, making a will in Spain, how to handle taxes, and more. These are questions sometimes best answered by a Spanish lawyer, to be sure you are getting the right answer. Below we have several frequently asked questions, with links to the detailed answers from a local Spanish solicitor. Please bookmark this page, as we will continue to add more as time goes by.
There is one Almuñécar post office located in the P4 section of town, near the stadium. It is called the Oficina de Correos and they are very nice. When you arrive, there will likely be a line of people. Thankfully there is now a ticketed number system and it is located on the pole, to the right, as you walk in. There is also one La Herradura post office, located on the side of the municipal market building.
Our local lawyer helps answer some of the most common questions we have as foreigners in Spain. This topic is going to cover the Holiday Rental Tourist License Andalucia! Keep in mind, that many municipalities are no longer going to issue NEW tourist licenses. They have stopped in the city of Granada and Malaga. Each municipality can make their decision.
If there is one thing we noticed immediately when we moved to Spain, it was the lack of screens on the windows and doors. It seems like a simple resolution to the problem of combating insects entering the home, but for some reason they just aren’t common. Yes, there are mosquitoes in Spain. That leaves us with searching for the best mosquito trap or mosquito repellent, as well as coming up with means to screen our windows and doors.
There is so much confusion about residency in Spain. People often don’t understand if they are a Resident, Tax Resident, or Non-Tax Resident. This is especially true for those citizens within the EU who can travel and reside in the EU countries freely and sometimes for the Non-EU citizens too.
Large numbers of jellyfish (Medusas in Spanish) have been a problem from time to time in some Mediterranean beaches during recent years. They tend to arrive in large groups once or twice a season and you need to be prepared in case of a jellyfish sting. On popular beaches a red flag will fly if there are many jellyfish present.
