The holiday season is upon us and there is so much going on! It is magical to experience (Navidad) Christmas in Almuñécar, La Herradura & the surrounding areas. We also know it can be difficult to find out when and where things are happening, so we compile the information and keep it here for you! There is nothing better than a sense of community and that is what you will find in many of the social groups available in Spain. There are several resources at your disposal via Social Groups, Clubs, Facebook Groups, Blog and Websites about Spain or the Costa Tropical area. Within these groups, you may connect and learn from others. If you are looking for second-hand or used goods, there are several different buy, sell, swap groups too.
The neighborhood of San Sebastián is one of the oldest in Almuñécar and has some ancient treasures to discover. Not only will you see one of the several sections of the Roman aqueduct, but there is another little treasure. Tucked away in the narrow streets of the neighborhood is the small hermitage of San Sebastián.

Almuñécar is on the Costa Tropical and by road is 75 kilometers from Málaga, 80 kilometers from Granada, and 129 kilometers from Almeria. It is easy to make your way to and from Almuñécar and you have several transportation options.
The hermitage of San José and Santa Rita is located in a privileged place at the top of Los Berengueles. It was built by architect Francisco Prieto Moreno in the 1970s. You can find it perched in the pines near the Punta de La Mona lighthouse, tucked between the bays of Almuñécar to the east, and La Herradura to the west. It is a nice area for reflection, meditation, and organized events.
