This may not be valid across the entire country, but as a general rule it holds true in Almuñécar. Follow the guide below and it will help ease any little bit of culture shock you may have.

There are also several specialty markets or small stores where you will be able to find imported or international products. A few of these are open for limited hours on Sundays. The Farmer’s Market (eco mercado) is on the last Sunday of each month! This Eco Market is further proof of the firm commitment that the Almuñécar City Council makes to our local merchants and products, from km 0, sustainable and ecological. Organic products and locally sourced produce.

The Salobreña Eco Mercado, an organic farmer’s market, is held on the second Sunday of every month. Municipal Market Square. You will find the best quality fruits, vegetables, cheese, bread, empanadas, craft beer, wines, cosmetics, certified organic cotton items, and other monthly surprises. 09:00 – 14:00 The Second Sunday of each month.

There are several supermarkets and grocery stores in town with amazing produce, as well as our local municipal market.
If you are looking for a shopping fix in the bigger stores, shopping in Motril may be just what you need. Of course you could also go hit the bigger malls in Vélez-Málaga, the Nevada shopping mall in Granada or Larios shopping mall in Málaga. If you are looking for something a bit closer to Almuñécar then Motril should do the trick. There is far more than just a visit to Al Campo.
