Each December there is a wonderful Almuñécar Art Exhibition and this year it is featuring local artist José Cabrera Alaminos and friends!
Art Exhibition José Cabrera Alaminos and Friends
This will be a freestyle exhibition. The main requirement is that the art is a minimum measurement of 60 cm (23.6 in), The diverse group of artists are residents of the municipality. Of course, there are local Spanish artists (from Almuñécar, La Herradura, Motril, and Granada), but there are also some from England, North America, and Italy.
2020 Artists: Rafael S. Barbero, Rafael Deliso, Bárbara D. Alaminos, Emilio Domínguez, Ornella Gibelli, Juan Ilarraz, José A. Lerta Mármol, Martín Morales, Helen Newman, Danielle Paglio Belin, and Ines Pecharoman.
Not only will you be able to enjoy the beautiful painted canvases, but you will also enjoy poetry readings by guest poets: Antonio Medina, Ornella Gibelli, and Ángeles Díaz Vaca.
José Cabrera Alaminos has been holding an exhibition every December for more than 20 years.
When? December 5-19, 2020
The exhibition may be visited December 5 – 19, between the hours of 11:00 – 13:00 and 16:00 – 18:00.
This exhibition is in collaboration with the Arte-Sur Association.

Casa de la Cultura de Almuñécar (La sala de exposiciones “Rowland Fade”)
Covid-19 measures will apply with a limited number of visitors at one time and masks must be worn.
Who is José Cabrera Alaminos?
Just about anyone who has been to Almuñécar has seen the work of José Cabrera Alaminos. He is not only a talented painter, but he has also completed many of the mosaic art installations you see around town.

Pulpo
The mosaic Pulpo is the center of attention at the roundabout where Av. Juan Carlos I intersects with Paseo Puerta del Mar.

There are also a couple of mosaic art installations in the town center.
