While the Almuñécar Halloween, and generally in Spain, isn’t a big tradition for trick or treat and costumes, there are a few fun things going on. It tends to be more of the zombies and scary events, but there are some for the little kids too. We have included Halloween activities for La Herradura, and Almuñécar, Maro, Lobres, Motril, and Salobreña. Use the table of contents to quickly jump to the section you are interested in.

Día de Todos los Santos – All Saints Day
All Saint’s Day is part of the three-day Allhallowtide, honouring the saints and praying for the recently departed souls who haven’t yet reached heaven.
Hallowe’en (a contraction of All Hallows’ Eve) on 31 October
All Saints’ Day on 1 November
All Souls’ Day on 2 November, which commemorates the faithful departed – the souls of all good who have passed.

2021 Halloween Costa Tropical & More
La Herradura 2021
October 30th at 23:00 to Oct 31 – 05:00
Saturday night until the wee hours Sunday Morning
La Herradura celebrates Halloween in style once again! The terrifying gymkhana called “Apocalypse 20.12 Zombie” will begin at 11 pm and will last until 5 am on Sunday. It will be an alternative leisure event with a horror theme, in which fictional situations are recreated with great realism. Just like as if it were a movie featuring you! At the gymkhana, you will have to pass tests without being caught by the “zombies”
Registration to participate in this gymkhana can be done through www.entradium.com.
100 free tickets will be offered from the Mayor’s Office.
Almuñécar Halloween 2021
- October 29th – Friday Trick or Treat for the kids!
- It is trick or treat time with candy for the kids from the local participating shops. Get your best costumes on and visit the shops of Almuñécar in the afternoon from 17:30-20:00.
- October 30th – Saturday Costume Parade!
- 19:30 Departing from the Cultural Center (Casa de la Cultura), you may join in on the grand and scary parade, named “El Circo de los Horrores” (The Circus of Horrors). The boys and girls who attend in costumes to “terrify” will be able to join this parade. There will be various performances in the main town plazas.

Carrera de la Concepción, then to Av. Costa del Sol, then down Avenida Europa,
on to Plaza Kuwait by the Aquarium (There will be a performance here 20:00).
Next moving on to Calle Sánchez Chaves, Then Avenida Cala, then Calle Vélez and on to Plaza Constitution (by the town hall).
Then moving down Calle Real and Baja del Mar into Plaza Damasco and down Avenida Andalusia to Plaza Madrid.
From there it will move on to Calle Hurtado de Mendoza, Plaza Mariana Pineda and then Avenida Baracoa. Ending at the Municipal Stadium “Francisco Bonet” Puerto de la Cruz Street at 22:00 (10:00pm).
Mesón Del Gusto
Movie night! Enjoy a drink and a meal or tapas with some great movies for Halloween at Mesón Del Gusto! So much fun to have out with your friends. There is a big screen inside, so you don’t even need to worry about the weather. There isn’t a special holiday menu, so order what you like from the menu.

Maroween – Maro Halloween & All Saints

Salobreña Halloween 2021
They will have a parade departing from the Casa de Cultura at 20:00. Followed by a party at the Sports Arena. Put on your costume and have fun with them. Music, refreshments, and there will be bouncy castles and inflatable obstacle courses for the kids!
Lobres Halloween 2021
The village of Lobres celebrates the most terrifying night of the year with a series of activities for everyone. Including events showing its history and customs, such as the legend of the vampire. Everything will take place on Sunday, October 31, Halloween!
There will be a parade of vampires in the afternoon, starting from the main plaza and ending in the old cemetery.
Later in the evening, is the passage of terror! This will be held at the Senior Center, which has been converted for the occasion. This is fun for everyone with drinks, tapas, cocktails, and a chestnut roaster for tradition. During the party, there will be a costume contest for both children and adults, rewarding originality, creativity, and adaptation to the theme. In addition, in order to relate this holiday to our history, it is recommended to go dressed as vampires.
Motril Halloween 2021
Tunnel of Terror!
October 29th – 31st. 19:00 – 22:00
At the Youth Center of the Park of the Peoples of America
An incredible tunnel of terror will be available to enjoy in Motril, with three levels of terror: fright, fear, and terror. There will also be various workshops and an escape room! These activities are intended for everyone to enjoy from 19:00 – 22:00 October 29th – 31st.
Gualchos – Castell de Ferro Halloween 2021

- In the Plaza de España of Castell de Ferro, the tunnel of terror!
- Saturday, October 30
- 17:30 – At the Parque de la Era in Gualchos, Children’s games and Storytelling of “Ojú, que zusto” by storyteller Filiberto. Your little ones will be enchanted with scary stories.
- 20:30 – In the Plaza de la Constitución de Gualchos you can participate in the Chestnut Festival. Mingle with your neighbors and friends.

- 17:00 – In the Plaza de España in Castell de Ferro, there will be children’s workshops and then a snack for the children where they will be able to taste the magic potion.
- 18:30 – Urban Dance Workshop
- 19:00 – Flitflamc Workshop, a fusion between fitness and flamenco.

Almuñécar Halloween & All Saints 2019
The City of Almuñécar organizes a few “scary” days on Halloween
17:00 – Kids
The children’s free film ‘Hotel Transylvania 3’ will be shown in the cinema of the Casa de Cultura. After there will be the party for the little ones, a party of the Mexican Saints, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, from 18:00.
22:30 – Teens & Adults
The free movie shown will be ‘The Curse of the Weeping Woman’ at the Casa de Cultura.
Kids – The AMPA of San Miguel will prepare a snack for kids in Plaza del Ayuntamiento in the afternoon and there will also be a setting for the day of the dead.
Teens & Adults –
18:00 at El Majuelo Park the ‘Zombie Apocalypse’.
23:00 A gymkhana (contents of trials) organized by the Department of Youth, starting at El Majuelo Park, with activities and trials through the Almuñécar city center, while having to avoid being caught by the zombies and being transformed into one of them.
La Herradura Halloween & All Saints 2019

La Herradura presents “the Passage of Terror”. The haunted house will take place in the Castle of La Herradura for 3 nights October 31 – November 2 from 20:00.

Maro celebrates the Chestnut and Sweet Potato Festival every October 31 under its new name, Maroween. Hundreds of people gather in the town square to taste the traditional chestnuts and roasted sweet potatoes.
To liven up the party of Maroween, a passage of terror (Haunted house) and festival with a costume contest and lots of fun is also celebrated. Maro’s square and streets are adorned with pumpkins, candles and a lot of terror.
It is a party in which local and foreign customs merge.
Maro is located between La Herradura and Nerja.
