There are no formal cinemas in Almuñécar, but there are showings at the Casa de la Cultura in Almuñécar, Salobreña, and Nerja.  Of course you can find standard movie theaters in nearby cities, such as Motril, Velez-Málaga , Málaga and Granada.  Most of these show English language films with Spanish subtitles.  They are listed with a notation of VOS (version original subtitles)or VO (version original) films. When looking for films screened in English, look for the marking “VO” beside the showing (VO), (VOS) or (VOSE).

Note: VO films are not always in English. To find out about a film and its language, use the title search option of the Internet Movie Database (IMDb)
