Pueblo Ingles – Volunteer with your native English-speaking skills

The program represents a great opportunity for all native English-speakers who want to spend a week enjoying culture, conversation, and connecting with people. You will have the chance to get to know a group of diverse individuals from all walks of life and to form long-lasting friendships.

Volunteers can enjoy a free week at one of our English-speaking villages. Our volunteers do not have to teach English in a traditional format, they just have to bring a positive attitude, a passion for conversation and an interest in learning about people from different countries and cultures. A fun and rewarding experience is offered in exchange for your English conversation.

Speak English At Local Schools

Some of the local schools appreciate volunteers who speak English to assist teachers for certain class periods.  These opportunities are during the school year from September through June and can be 1 hour a week or as often as you like.

Day of Languages at IES Al-Ándalus

In addition, each spring there is a “Day of Languages” at IES AlÁndalus.  This includes activities in different languages, especially in English.  They also include Braille and Sign Language, to show the students diversity and bridge communication.  Each year they need as many volunteers as possible for this event and are looking for any languages (English and French are most desired).  You may talk about whatever you think is interesting for teens.  It could be a talk, a workshop, a powerpoint presentation or any activity, as long as it is in English/French. More info from IES AlÁndalus secondary school contact here.

All volunteers working with minors are required to obtain a Certificate of Sexual Offences (Certificado de delito sexual).

It is understood everyone can’t make regular financial donations or offer a home for foster or adoption.  That said you can volunteer, please don’t underestimate the power of just a little help.

Local beach cleanup days are a great way to give back to the community and make our La Herradura & Almuñécar beaches nicer!

Various Beach Clean Up Days

Living on the sea means that we are even more aware of the harm that single-use plastic (drinking straws, water bottles, snack bags, juice boxes), cigarette butts, and lost fishing gear have on our little slice of paradise.  Why not join us at a beach cleanup? Bring the family and get involved in keeping our sea plastic free.  Be on the look out for announcements throughout the year on Facebook.

If you have more suggestions, just send us a message and we will determine if it should be added to the list.
