Tradition, processions, remembrance, commemoration, brotherhoods, sisterhoods, candles, floats, a variety of costumes and more, are all part of what you will experience during AlmuñécarSemana Santa (Holy Week)! This usually spans over 8 days, with multiple processions through town during the day or night. For 2021, it will again be a little different from the normal week. We will keep the information on what you would normally experience when you celebrate La Herradura & Almuñécar Carnival! The parades begin at one location and end at the party event locations. This year the party locations are at Plaza Kuwait in Almuñécar and at the Plaza de la Independencia in La Herradura. Keep on reading for detailed events and locations.

Food, drinks, activities, procession, and fireworks are what you will get when you celebrate the Fiestas de La Carrera Almuñécar! This usually includes 2-3 days of activities in the neighborhood of La Carrera, near the old town Church. There are no festivities in 2020.
The full Feria is cancelled for August 2020 due to Covid 19, but there will be a few special celebrations.
The second week of August means it’s time for the Almuñécar Feria and Fiestas Virgen de la Antigua. Time for celebrations in honor of the town’s patron saint, Virgen de la Antigua. It’s nearly a week full of food, drinks, music, carnival rides, and a procession. It all ends on August 15th with the biggest night in Almuñécar ‘s list of annual festivals and the most spectacular fireworks display around!
