11.  Narrowest Street

Almuñécar's narrowest street in Europe - street with no name, just off of Calle San Joaquin

The self-proclaimed “The most narrow street in Europe” was used to steal a sneaky kiss back in the day.  Where is that 35cm wide street?  Off of San Joaquin Street, just a few meters from the Cueva Siete Palacios.  This alley with no name is perpendicular to San Joaquin Street, in the barrio of the castle of San Miguel.  This street and the surrounding area were renovated an completed in early 2019.

The Department of Culture of the city council of Almuñécar are evaluating the possibility of conducting a citizen contest to look for a name to the alley.  One idea is to take a selfie on the street and publish it on Instagram, tagging the city council of Almuñécar (@Almunecarayuntamiento), and proposing a name, which would later be voted on by the council.  We will keep you posted!
